Diseases of the eye and its associated structures can significantly reduce your pet’s quality of life. Our professional veterinary clinic team provides comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of ophthalmic diseases in dogs and cats, including infections, injuries, inflammation, prolapse of the third eyelid gland (“cherry eye”), glaucoma, congenital defects and emergency conditions that can be very painful and require urgent treatment. Ophthalmological changes can also be early indicators of various diseases, and can occur even before the first specific symptoms of certain systemic diseases start showing.
Regular check-ups – the key to your pets’ eye health
Preventive ophthalmic examinations, especially in older pets, but also in the youngest ones, can prevent further complications of possible diseases that are hidden or unknown to the owner, stop their progress and preserve your pet’s vision.
Modern diagnostic procedures for proper treatment
Our clinic is equipped with modern ophthalmic diagnostic equipment to quickly detect ophthalmic pathologies in your pets.
In addition to a comprehensive ophthalmological examination, including neuroophthalmological examination, examination of the anterior segment of the eye under magnification and of the posterior segment of the eye by direct or indirect ophthalmoscopy, we perform ultrasound diagnostics of ophthalmological changes, cytological analyses and bacteriological examinations of samples, all with the aim of early detection of diseases and their urgent treatment.
Surgical procedures in ophthalmology
In case an ophthalmic examination shows that your pet needs surgical intervention, our team provides many services in ophthalmic surgery, including eyelid, anterior segment and emergency surgery.
When to ask for help?
If you notice that your pet has any of the clinical ophthalmological symptoms, such as reddened conjunctiva mucous membranes, increased tear production, increased discharge, excessive blinking or eye scratching, or if their eye appears bluish, swollen or they behave as if they can’t see, immediately perform an ophthalmological examination to determine the right type of therapy in time and prevent the progress of the disease that could cause permanent consequences.
Don’t delay! Early detection of the problem can prevent the condition from worsening and enable your pet to live a healthy and good-quality life. Contact our team to ensure your pet’s eye health is at its best!
