Vet Planet Braće Jerković

Veterinary Practice Braće Jerković opened in March 2008. From the very beginning, its founder, Dr Andrija Daković, DVM, Specialist in Veterinary Medicine, built the practice on clinical expertise, continuous professional development and the development of a strong veterinary team. This approach quickly established the practice as a trusted name in veterinary care in Belgrade, particularly in internal medicine, general surgery and orthopaedic surgery.

Today, the practice continues to operate as part of the Vet Planet network. The team consists of Dr Nataša Ostojić, Dr Ivan Radosavljević and veterinary technician Tijana Milovanović. Its key areas of focus include internal medicine, ultrasound and laboratory diagnostics, as well as soft tissue surgery for dogs and cats.

The practice also houses a veterinary pharmacy and a pet shop, offering medicines, supplements and veterinary therapeutic diets from leading international manufacturers, alongside high-quality food for puppies, kittens and adult dogs and cats.

An internist examination is often the first and very important step in detecting health problems and planning further treatment for your pet. This examination enables veterinarians to detect changes in the general condition of the animal in time and to determine which diagnostic and therapeutic measures are further needed.

At our clinic, we approach each patient carefully, thoroughly and with a lot of dedication. We know that diagnostics and treatment sometimes require time, patience, and good cooperation between veterinarians, owners, and pets. That is why it is important for us to listen to all of the owner’s observations, because they are most often the first to notice changes in the behaviour, appetite or daily habits of their pet.

We perform diagnostics and treatment of diseases of the cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary and urinary systems, as well as endocrine and neurological diseases in dogs and cats.

During the examination and diagnostic procedures, we pay special attention to making your pet feel safe, calm and as relaxed as possible. Gentle approach, patience and as little stress as possible are an important part of our care for each patient.

Our clinic offers a wide range of general surgery services and performs a large number of routine and elective procedures under inhaled general anaesthesia. We approach each patient carefully, professionally and with special care, to ensure maximum safety and comfort throughout the surgical process.

Some examples of standard operations include:

  • Castrations of pets, males and females (ovariectomy, ovariohysterectomy, orchiectomy)
  • Biopsy of growths
  • Wound repair and treatment
  • Enucleation (eye removal)
  • Skin biopsy

We know that pet surgery can be stressful and worrying for owners, so we are here to answer all your questions and clarify any concerns related to the procedure, anaesthesia, pain control and postoperative care.

After surgery, pets that need additional monitoring and care remain under our supervision, where we provide them with continuous monitoring, therapy and the necessary support during recovery.

After you take your pet home, we remain at your disposal for any additional questions and advice. It is important to us that you and your pet feel safe, informed, and supported every step of the recovery process.

Pets’ reproductive health plays an important role in safe childbirth and healthy development of the offspring. At the Veterinary Clinic Braće Jerković, we are committed to making the entire process – from planning to recovery – as peaceful and uncomplicated as possible, with a professional and careful approach.

We monitor pregnancy with modern diagnostics and provide support throughout pregnancy, as well as during childbirth. In situations where additional assistance is needed, we are prepared for emergency interventions and surgical procedures, including cesarean section in dogs and cats.

As part of reproductive medicine, we offer:

  • Ultrasound pregnancy monitoring
  • Assistance with delivery and emergency interventions
  • Fertility monitoring through progesterone determination
  • Semen collection and artificial insemination
  • Ultrasound diagnostics of the reproductive system
  • Reproductive control (implants, interruption of pregnancy if necessary)
  • Treatment of prostate and penile diseases
  • Castration and sterilization

Although most pets can give birth naturally, sometimes a caesarean section is necessary. The most common reasons are long and exhausting labour without progress, improperly placed or oversized foetuses, weakness of labour or breed predisposition (e.g. bulldogs, Chihuahuas, Persian cats).

During and after the procedure, special attention is paid to the safety of the mother and her offspring, as well as their recovery with constant supervision and appropriate care.

We’re also here for advice – whether it’s your first time dealing with a litter or you already have experience. We help you properly care for your pet and her offspring at all stages, so that your pet grows up healthy and safe.

At the Veterinary Clinic Braće Jerković, ultrasound and X-ray diagnostics are an important part of modern diagnostic processing and help us to quickly and more accurately identify the cause of your pet’s health problems.

X-ray imaging is a fast and effective method that gives us important information about the state of the skeletal system, chest and abdomen. The imaging itself takes a very short time, which is especially important when treating patients who are frightened, experiencing pain or who have respiratory problems. In some situations, when necessary, imaging can also be performed under sedation.

Ultrasound diagnostics is an indispensable part of the examination of internal organs, and at our clinic we perform ultrasound of the abdomen and heart. This method typically does not require sedation, but it is usually recommended that the pet does not eat before the examination to make the results as clear and accurate as possible.

By combining ultrasound and X-ray, we get important information that helps us make an accurate diagnosis and determine the best treatment plan for your pet.

At our clinic, modern laboratory diagnostics plays an important role in quickly and accurately detecting your pet’s health problems.

As part of laboratory diagnostics, we perform:

  • Complete blood count
  • Biochemical blood tests
  • Rapid tests for tick-borne and certain infectious diseases
  • Urine and faeces analysis
  • Microscopic analysis of samples
  • Genetic and DNA testing in cooperation with specialized external laboratories

Laboratory analyses are often an indispensable part of the diagnostic process, as they give us important information about the functioning of the liver, kidneys, pancreas, thyroid gland and other organ systems.

At the Veterinary Clinic Braće Jerković, physical examinations are an important part of dog and cat health care. They help us detect changes and diseases in time, when symptoms are often not yet clearly observable.

Regular check-ups are especially important for heart disease, kidney disease and tumour changes, as early detection opens up more opportunities for more successful treatment and a better quality of life for the pet. If necessary, we supplement the examination with additional diagnostics to determine the next steps as accurately as possible.

At our clinic we perform:

PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS FOR CATS:

  • physical examination for cats up to 7 years old
  • physical examination for cats older than 7 years (small and large package)

PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS FOR DOGS:

  • physical examination for dogs up to 7 years old
  • physical examinations for dogs older than 7 years (small and large package)

Our goal is to provide your pet with careful and timely care, and to give you the assurance that their health is in good hands.
