Oral health is just as important for animals as it is for humans. Dental disease can cause serious health problems for your pet, ranging from gum inflammation and tooth loss to infections and even damage to internal organs.

Dental and gum diseases are among the most common health problems in dogs and cats. Dog owners most often notice bad breath, while cat owners typically seek veterinary care when their pets show signs such as excessive drooling, difficulty chewing or difficulty swallowing.

Our clinic provides comprehensive dental care for pets, starting with preventive dental check-ups, which are recommended once or twice a year. A thorough dental examination is performed under general inhalational anaesthesia. Before each anaesthetic procedure, our veterinarians carefully prepare the patient and explain the entire process to the owner in detail.

During a dental procedure, the veterinarian thoroughly examines your pet’s teeth for fractures, cavities, excessive tooth wear and other abnormalities. The gums are also assessed to identify any signs of periodontal disease as early as possible.

Dental X-rays allow for a detailed assessment of the teeth and surrounding tissues, helping veterinarians make informed decisions about tooth extractions and the treatment of periodontal disease. Depending on the type and severity of the dental condition, procedures may include ultrasonic scaling to remove dental calculus, surgical tooth extractions and the removal of growths from the oral cavity.

An important part of our dental services is educating owners on proper dental care and maintaining their pets’ oral health, because prevention is key to protecting their well-being.
